3.0 Category A credits/credit hours
This Quick Self Study will introduce the learner to the basics of clinical trials and research. The examples throughout this course are oncology-focussed but the content is suitable for all health care professionals interested in learning more about clinical studies and research. Today's standard cancer treatments, including radiation therapy, are the result of yesterday's clinical trials. Sucessful clinical trials have increased survival rates and decreased morbidity associated with many treatments. Clinical trials have also resulted in the development of new compounds and techniques to reduce side effects from cancer therapy. Through completion of this QSS, the learner will gain an understanding of how the clinical trial process works, be able to identify key members of the clinical research team, interpret clinical trial results and be able to answer patients' basic questions about the clinical trials.
There is a four-month deadline from the date of purchase to submit your post quiz answer sheet for category “A” credit / hours.
Marks will be available within 3 weeks of submission.
The CAMRT allows candidates who have failed to obtain a 75% pass mark one additional attempt at the post quiz. An administration fee applies: $25 for members and $50 for non-members. Candidates have one full year from the original date of registration to apply for a QSS rewrite.
Candidates who have surpassed their fourth month deadline must re-purchase the Quick Self Study.
